4 Days Sahara Trip from Marrakech to Fez

Pick-up at 8:00 AM from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), stopping for breathtaking panoramic views and visits to Berber villages along the route.

Visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for movies like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Kingdom of Heaven. Continue towards Ouarzazate, also known as the "Hollywood of Africa."

From Ouarzazate, travel through the Valley of the Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing Skoura Oasis with its 17th-century kasbahs, until arriving at Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight at a hotel or kasbah in Dades.

After breakfast, depart towards the spectacular Todra Gorges, with towering cliffs up to 300 meters high. Enjoy free time for walking, photography, or simply admiring the breathtaking canyon.

Continue the journey to the Sahara, passing through Erfoud, famous for fossils and date markets, until reaching Merzouga at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Check-in at your hotel or riad in Merzouga. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel with a chance to relax before your desert adventure.

Today, enjoy a 4x4 desert excursion to explore the region around Erg Chebbi dunes. Visit the Gnawa village of Khamlia, famous for its traditional music, and meet nomadic families living in the desert. Explore abandoned mines, visit seasonal lakes (when available), and experience local culture.

In the afternoon, switch to camel trekking and ride into the dunes to witness an unforgettable sunset. Arrive at the Berber desert camp, enjoy a traditional dinner, music around the campfire, and sleep under a star-filled sky in your private tent.

Wake early to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the dunes. Ride camels back to the hotel, freshen up with breakfast and a shower. Begin the journey towards Fes via the beautiful Ziz Valley, dotted with thousands of palm trees.

Pass through Errachidia and Midelt, a town located between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, and enjoy lunch along the way. Stop at Azrou’s cedar forest to see the famous Barbary macaques (monkeys). Then pass through the charming town of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes in the evening. Drop-off at your riad or hotel. End of the tour.
